I first met Michelle about three years ago I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Michelle’s Brother’s wedding.  Amber and Michael have become some very good friends of ours over the years, and I was honored that Michelle and Kyle chose me to photograph their wedding on a rather warm July afternoon.

The one thing that stood out to me more then anything was their commitment to family and friends.

Sarah and Justin had a fabulous wedding at a little church just outside of Fergus Falls Minnesota. THeir wedding reception took place at Justin’s Father’s Lake Cabin on a beautiful little lake in rustic Minnesota lakes country.

Amanda + Matt | Engagement Session

Amanda contacted me after her wedding.  An engagement shoot wasn’t originally a part of their wedding package, and they never had the opportunity to schedule one before their big day.

I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of one of Matt’s friends earlier in the year, and got the call to do their “Engagement” shoot close to their one year anniversary.

The one thing both of them wanted was something more “country”.  Which was easy enough to provide in the Sheyanne National Grasslands just southwest of Kindred.

I had scouted the grasslands a number of times previously, but never had an opportunity to make this gorgeous location a part of a shoot.  Thankfully Amanda and Matt gave me an excellent excuse to get out of town and photograph them along the rolling hills.

I waited a good week to write this one, because when you shoot a wedding, the perception of a situation becomes grossly distorted from it’s reality.

For instance, I though I had completly bungled the shoot.

I’m a pro, I can admit that I had a bad day, and after all that’s what this blog is for. I want my clients to understand my approach. And bad days are better judges of character then good days.

At the time, I thought I COMPLETLY bungled the wedding. There were a number of distractions during the day which were really fraying my nerves.

    1. My car was giving me issues. We had gotten freezing rain the night before, and for some odd reason, my car door WOULD NOT STAY closed. So I had to drive to the locations HOLDING it shut myself.

Which is not good. Not good at all.
