    Chugs | Fargo Pet Photography

Headed out to a quaint little farm between Dilworth and Hawley to shoot this young pup.    Chugger had so much energy that it was a challenge keeping up, but with a little help from his owners we were able to keep him moving in the right direction and got some great shots with him.

I had photographed Joidine and Derek’s engagement six years ago just before they were married. I was so pleased and absolutely honored to be asked to photograph Jodine’s maternity session! We picked an open spot along the red river that was just perfect for their rustic lives and I’m very proud to deliver these beautiful images to them to remember this time. I’m really looking forward to see these in big print on their walls, and even more excited to meet the new addition to their family!

LeAnn an Brian stopped by for for a quick family session well ahead of the Christmas rush to make some cards. It was a pleasure to get an opportunity to photograph them again, and hopefully we’ll get to see them again in the nearish future!

I haven’t done many maternity shoots, but when they do come along, I always want to do something special.  I was able to talk Shauna, and her husband John to do an evening shoot out by Buffalo River State Park, just outside of Glyndon MN.  Buffalo River State park is quickly becoming one of my “go to” locations.  It’s close enough to Fargo that my clients and I can zip away and get some fabulous locations without too much hastle.  While my all time favorite location to shoot has to be the Sheyanne National grasslands, Buffalo will do in a pinch.

We  only had a good two hours to work outdoors to get our locations, but the light and scenery was spectacular to work with.  The leaves had turned, and while the trees were a bit more sparse due to a heavy wind storm that passed through a few days early, there was still plenty of muted fall colors to work with.

When it got too dark to shoot on location, we headed back to the studio to do some classic black and white shots.

    Bentley | Fargo Newborn Photography

One of the most touching things I’ve discovered as a photographer, is having the ability to watch families start.  Many of my wedding clients later bring their newborn to the studio to shoot.

I met Bently’s parents last year, and photographed their wedding, a beautiful ceremony, and very touching reception in West Fargo, ND.  I was absolutely thrilled to get a chance to photograph the newest edition to their family.

Bently was no more then two weeks old, and very alert for the bulk of the shoot!  We went though about half a dozen outfits with him, and got some wonderful shots.  Thankfully, we’l have a chance to photograph young Mr. Bently every three months as part of our “My First Year” photography package.

  • Hadley | Nine Months

At nine months, Miss Hadley has gotten to be quite the handful!  We opted to work mostly indoors due to the weather, since our schedules didn’t quite line up for a reshoot.  Mom brought some bead necklaces, which Hadley took to immediately!   She brough a cute tutu, and we shot for as long as we could until Hadley had enough of the lights.

We’ll be doing a Trash the Cake shoot with her as well, and I’m very much looking forward to what we capture when she can funnel her energy into oblitering a cake!

I photographed Cambry on rather warm August afternoon.  We did a blend of indoor studio shots, and outdoor shots around Island Park near downtown Fargo.  Mom and Dad brought along a beautiful little knit hat, made by a friend of the family which demanded some attention!

We finished up our day at the softball diamonds for a very quick set in her “I Watch Baseball With My Daddy” outfit while we raced to stay ahead of the quickly setting sun.

We got to shoot Jacob’s first birthday with a Trash the Cake session, which are always a fun experience.  Jacobs grandmother brought a really fun “Cars” themed cake, and with a little prodding, Jacob dove right in.

Hadley is a bit of a return customer.  I photographed her parents wedding two years ago, a lovely ceremony in a beautifull church in Fergus Falls.  We’ll be shooting her first full year as part of our “Year One” package.
